About This Course

The AI-Enabled Educator—Inspired Planning, Smart Assessment for KS3 & KS4 is a Level 3 CPD course for classroom teachers and one-to-one tutors who want to use AI to plan, differentiate and assess more effectively while maintaining high ethical standards. Across five structured modules, educators learn how to choose and use AI platforms, craft powerful prompts, create bulk lesson plans and resources, build and apply rubrics, and design AI-supported formative assessment that drives real progress for diverse KS3 and KS4 learners. The course emphasises adaptive teaching, smart marking, and responsible AI use so that AI enhances teacher expertise rather than replacing it, reducing workload while strengthening feedback, inclusion and learner outcomes.

Who is this course for?

Teachers, tutors, teaching assistants (TAs).

Learning Outcomes

By the end of this course, participants will be able to:

  1. Explain what AI is, how it supports planning, differentiation and assessment in KS3 and KS4, and why teacher judgement must always remain central.
  1. Select appropriate AI platforms (such as MagicSchool, Eduaide, TeachMateAI, Curipod, Diffit, Canva and others) for specific planning, differentiation and assessment tasks in classroom and one-to-one settings.
  1. Use and adapt practical AI prompts to generate curriculum-aligned lesson plans, scaffolds, resources and quizzes, including bulk creation of sequences of lessons for core KS3 and KS4 topics.
  1. Design and implement AI-assisted workflows for formative assessment and adaptive feedback, using quizzes, analytics and targeted follow-up to address misconceptions and move learning forward.
  1. Create and apply clear rubrics and success criteria within AI tools to support fair, consistent and efficient marking, while moderating and personalising all feedback before sharing with students.
  1. Differentiate effectively for mixed-ability groups, SEND and EAL learners by using AI to tailor reading levels, scaffolds, visual supports and extension challenges.
  1. Apply core principles of ethical and responsible AI use (transparency, privacy, bias awareness, safeguarding and accountability) when planning, marking and communicating with students and families.
  1. Reflect on their own practice to develop sustainable AI-enhanced routines that reduce stress and workload, build learner independence, and keep them “ahead of the learning curve” as AI tools continue to evolve.

These outcomes reflect practical, ethical, and adaptive use of AI for teaching, marking, and continuous professional improvement.
