About This Course

The AI Enabled Educator Level 3 course: Inspired Planning, Smart Marking for Primary Education is a hands-on CPD programme for primary teachers who want to use AI to plan lessons, assess learning and manage workload more efficiently, without any prior AI experience. Through structured, step-by-step modules, teachers learn how to select appropriate AI tools, write effective prompts, create and bulk-generate lesson plans, design and use rubrics, build SATs-style practice for Years 2 and 6, and develop sustainable AI-powered workflows that save time while keeping learning pupil-centred. Ethics, safeguarding and responsible AI use are embedded throughout, ensuring AI supports teacher expertise, protects pupils and promotes fair, inclusive practice.

Who is this course for?

Teachers, tutors, teaching assistants (TAs).

Learning Outcomes

By the end of this course, you will:

  • Explain what AI is in an educational context and describe how it can support (but not replace) teacher judgement in planning, differentiation and marking in primary settings.
  • Select and use suitable AI platforms (such as TeachMateAI, Eduaide, Chalkie AI, MagicSchool, Curipod, Diffit, Canva and others) for lesson planning, assessment, SATs practice and workflow management.
  • Write clear, detailed prompts and use bulk creation features to generate and adapt primary lesson plans, resources and quizzes that are aligned with year-group objectives and pupil needs.
  • Design and apply marking rubrics within AI tools to improve the consistency, clarity and focus of feedback, while moderating all AI-generated comments to maintain fairness and personalisation.
  • Use AI to create SATs-style practice activities for Years 2 and 6, including differentiated tasks and supports for SEND and EAL learners, and use resulting data to inform next steps in teaching.
  • Apply principles of ethical and responsible AI use, including transparency, privacy, bias awareness, safeguarding and GDPR considerations, when planning, marking and storing pupil data.
  • Build and monitor an AI-powered weekly workflow that incorporates planning, assessment and feedback routines, tracking time saved alongside pupil engagement and progress to ensure efficiency never comes at the expense of quality or personalisation.

Requirements

  • Computer or tablet with internet access.
  • Basic digital skills.
  • Willingness to try, reflect, and use all provided templates and checklists.
